ABOUT US

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

OUR MISSION

To be a lifelong family of Christ’s disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the Gospel and joyfully share God’s abundance.

A Little History

St. James the Less Church has been worshiping and serving God for over 60 years. We are a community of baptized believers who are committed to bringing the light of Christ to those who are far off and those who are near.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Every Sunday in worship we recite the Nicene Creed which connects us to the ancient faith and tradition of the Early Church. We are inheritors of their faith and tradition, and we too proclaim there is one God who is Trinitarian in nature: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Jesus is the Son of God, and Lord of our lives. In the waters of baptism are made members of the household of God through his death and resurrection. We believe that the Holy Spirit works in us and through us as we bring the light of God's Kingdom to those around us. We are called to love God and our neighbor.

WHO WE ARE

We are first and foremost disciples of the Lord Jesus. We worship together, we pray together, and we serve together. We are a part of The Episcopal Church which is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We share our rich tradition with Anglicans all over the world. It is our joy to share this amazing form of worship and tradition with Madison, TN.

A Growing Church

We are a faith community on the move. We continue to greet new people every Sunday, and share with them what makes this church so special for us. It isn't hard to see that we are a dynamic and growing church, and we truly believe God is doing something special with us. Check out this short video to see more of what we're about.
