COVID-19 Guidelines

Dear All,

COVID-19 continues to be a serious threat, and many people are dying from this virus daily. Many experts are saying there will be a risk of contracting the virus until there is a vaccine, which could be a year away if not longer. Until there is a proven vaccine that has been distributed, we will likely have some form of these safety measures in place for worship.

There will be a risk any time we venture out of our home until there is a vaccine. This risk includes coming to church. On our end, we are putting measures in place to minimize the risk of exposure when you come to church, but none of these measures are perfect. We want everyone to be safe and smart, while also being able to come worship together. We will have the church thoroughly cleaned before people arrive each Sunday and will sanitize high touch areas in between services. We will be following the CDC, state, metro, and diocesan guidelines. Each individual and family will need to assess what risks they are willing to take at this time, and please know we completely support you in that decision. Your safety is important to us.

In accordance with diocesan recommendations, we encourage people over the age of 65 and/or individuals with an underlying health conditions to remain at home and attend our service through Facebook Live. This also includes children who are too young to wear a mask. Those at a higher risk should consult their personal physician for guidance before attending public worship.

COVID-19 Guidelines
As of 8/18/20

  • Sunday Service Times:

    • 8:00 a.m.-Holy Eucharist Rite II, no music. Also streamed on Facebook Live. A Virtual Coffe Hour hosted by Fr. Randy on Zoom after the service. Click here or Follow along with the bulletin here. No RSVP needed.

    • 10:30 a.m.- Holy Eucharist Rite II. This service will be held outside in the back yard of the church if there is no rain. Bring your lawn chair and spread out. You do not need to sign up for this service.

      • If it does rain, we will have the service in the nave, and we ask that you do sign up online. We will send an email on Saturday if rain forces us indoors so that you can sign up. There will be no music outside, but there will be if we are inside.

  • Attendance: Thirty individuals will be allowed into each indoor service. The only service that we require an RSVP for is the 10:30 service if it's moved indoors due to rain. Sign up online beforehand through Signup Genius, call the church office, or email Fr. Wesley to reserve your spot. Masks are required at all times while indoors and are encouraged while outside as well.

  • Childcare: There will be no childcare, and we ask that family units sit in the pew together. The nursery and playground will not be open at this time.

  • Communion: At this time, we will only offer the Bread, and ask that you lower your mask when you receive it and then immediately place it back over your mouth. Instead of kneeling at the altar rail, those receiving the Bread will come in front of the rail and receive standing one by one, six feet apart. We also understand if individuals do not want to receive the sacrament at this time.

  • Music: Studies have shown just how dangerous singing can be in the spread of the coronavirus. At this time, we will have one or two choir members serve as cantors, and they will do the singing for us. Music is a vital part of worship, but we do not want to increase the chances of the virus spreading by singing.

  • Use of Prayer Books: We will have bulletins printed for you that will include the entire service. We ask that you do not use the prayer books in the pews. We do not want multiple people touching the same book on a Sunday.

  • Coffee Hour: We will not provide coffee or snacks before or after the service, and we discourage large groups forming in the Parish Hall. If it is nice outside and you would like to catch up from a safe distance, we encourage you to talk outside where there is better airflow.
